The Asocafé Tatama Santuario is an association of coffee producers in the region of Risaralda. Our export partner in the region, Raw Material, began purchasing from the group due to the high potential of coffee quality.
RM have set up a cupping lab in the area, with a particular focus on training women in the community. As well as investing in infrastructure and committing to paying more for coffee than the local average.
Their prices are dictated by what the actual cost of production is, rather than based on volatile market rates. This provides a more secure and sustainable income for the producers.
This traditional washed lot is comprised of coffee from 200 smallholders who ferment their coffees for 16 hours before sun-drying for 15 days. Coffees grown here are said to have a unique flavour profile owing to a specific microclimate. The coffees are vibrant, sweet and well rounded.
