This coffee is grown at high altitudes in the rich volcanic soils of the Kiambu region, not far north of the capital - Nairobi. In the classic style of Kenyan washed coffee, the ripe red cherries are hand harvested, fully washed in channels and fermented for 12 - 16 hours before being dried on raised beds for up to 3 weeks. This process creates clean, fruity coffees with high sweetness and great clarity of flavour.

The Sasini Estate has been growing coffee for over 70 years and encompasses six plantations within the highlands as well as their own processing mill for washing the coffees.

This enables total control over the final product by the producer and has ultimately created an exceptional coffee!

Ash says...

Kenyan coffees are always a roastery favourite - sweet, bright and balanced.
