we can access. In 2011, Serra De Mantiquiera became the first region to obtain the Geographical Indication seal for coffee, which indicates that coffees produced in this region have unique qualities and features that are essentially attributed to their origin.
The farm belongs to Fernando Dos Reis da Silva who was able to acquire his own piece of land in 2011 to grow coffee. In the past before this Fernando had worked for other farms building his expe- rience in coffee production.
In 2012 he was able to start planting on this piece of land and named the farm after Saint Marcos following in his religious beliefs. He planted 30,000 trees across the 16 hectares on the farm and was able to start cultivating the coffee in 2015 for sale.
